Panthers Cross Country teams ran in the Katie Caples Invitational at Bishop Kenny High School, Jacksonville, FL. Fifty-four schools from across Florida participated with 618 boys and and 533 girls running in JV, Varsity, & Elite races. After a day of rainfall, the course was a mess of deep mud and puddles.
On Friday, John Paul II wins all matches, best out of 3 games, against Largo HS(2-0), St. Pete Catholic HS(2-1) and Cambridge HS(2-0). On Saturday, the team lost in the semi-finals to St. Pete HS (0-2), but won their final game against Seminole HS(2-1) for third place in the gold bracket.

‘When John Paul II golfer Teresa Conroy was in middle school, she was a lone wolf tracking down low scores.
Along the way she gained a pack to trail her alpha.
Conroy and fellow senior Grace Murray started the golf team as freshman. As sophomores and juniors the pair led the Panthers to the school’s first two state tournament appearances.
“It’s fun to represent John Paul II again,” said Conroy, the All-Big Bend Player of the Year the last two years and an All-Big Bend first team selection since eighth grade. “Our team is really talented and we’ve all been working really hard.”
