The St. John Paul II baseball coaching staff, with the help of SJPII graduates Kennie Silvestri and Clark Whitley, led the Tallahassee 14u Babe Ruth All- Stars to the Florida State Championship and a berth in the Babe Ruth Regional Tournament in Colonial Heights, Virginia.

Current SJPII students Logan Roberts and Joe Silvestri led their team in hitting and pitching. Roberts hitting .750 with the tournaments only home run and Silvestri logging a 3-0 pitching record  and registering a no-hitter.

Update – Football Game postponed

Dear Parents and Students,

We hope you are all staying safe and dry! Per conversations with Leon County, Maclay, and our athletic director, the decision was made to postpone the game this evening until September 23rd. All after school activities for today are postponed.

Additionally, we are slated to be in school on Tuesday, and hopefully the power crews will have everything back to working order by then. Obviously, your safety is our priority, so please keep us informed if you will be unable to attend on Tuesday due to flooding or other concerns.

Again, stay safe, rely on your neighbors for any immediate assistance, and we’ll be in touch!

Panther’s XC Update

On Saturday, the JPII cross country teams ran in the Cougar Challenge, hosted by Godby High at Miller Landing in Tallahassee. The cross country teams feature seven new runners: AnaMaria Mendoza, Ashley Witherington, Ariana White, Jae Williams, Alex Janicki, Seth Kemeny and Tyler Lattner.

The team time averages were significantly faster than this time last year. We are looking forward to a great competitive season.

Mark your calendars for the next meet, our first home meet, on September 9. The girls run at 5:00 pm, the boys run at 5:30 pm, and awards are at 6:00 pm.

Go Panthers!!
