Lady Panthers leave no doubt versus Rocky Bayou

The Lady Panthers basketball team dominated the competition on Tuesday night, defeating district 1-3A Champions Rocky Bayou Christian School 46-15.  Maria Nixon, Erin Kolman, and Kelly Kolman all scored double figures to lead the Lady Panthers to victory.  The Lady Panthers will face Maclay School in the Regional Semifinal on Tuesday, February 11th at 7PM at Maclay School.

Men’s Basketball Sweeps Franklin County on Senior Night

Congratulations to the Panther JV team on their 47-32 victory over the Franklin County  Seahawks.  The Panthers got off to a blistering 20-3 start and never looked back.  Matthew Cowdrey led all scorers with 15 points.

The Panther Varsity team had a much tougher task, retaking the lead with under 2 minutes left in the game and holding on to win 47-41 to avenge a loss earlier this season.  Frank Tracy III led all scorers with 20 points, including 11 in the 4th quarter to help seal the win.

The win is the Panthers’ 4th win in a row and improves the Panthers overall record to 9-13.

Lady Panthers defeat NFC to advance to Regionals

The Lady Panthers basketball team defeated NFC 45-32 in the district semifinals to advance to the district finals and to assure themselves the schools’ first ever birth in the regional playoffs.  Georgia Slay scored 14, Maria Nixon added 12, and Erin Kolman scored 10 to go along with Kelly Kolman’s suffocating defense.  The Lady Panthers will play at Rocky Bayou in the regional playoffs on Thursday February 6th.

Varsity Men and Women outlast Aucilla Christian

In a very tense environment, the Panthers Men and Women Varsity teams defeated Aucilla Christian Friday night.  The Men’s team was led by Junior Stephon Thomas, who was the leading scorer with 14 points along with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals, Junior Frank Tracy III who added 12 points and 2 steals, and Senior Luke Bates, who had was dominant with 12 points and 9 rebounds. This is the Panthers third win in a row, making them 3-0 for the week!
